ALLIANCE, Ohio.- The Mount Union women's swimming and diving team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Ohio Northern, 173-116, Saturday afternoon.
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders (6-2) was Jessica Hirsh (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) and Dana Lautenschleger (Solon/Solon) who each won three events on the day.
Hirsh won the 100 yard butterfly (1:02.15) and the 200 yard butterfly while Lautenschleger won the 200 yard freestyle (2:00.47) and the 200 yard backstroke (2:11.23). Hirsh and Lautenschleger were each a part of the 400 yard medley relay win with a time of 4:08.92.
Regina Saxon (Hudson/Hudson) and Elise Pichola (Rocky River/Rocky River) were also included in the 400 yard medley relay win and each won another event.
Saxon won the 200 yard breaststroke (2:34.28) while Pichola won the 100 yard freestyle (56.86).
Marcy Spann (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Falls) also won two events on the night including the 500 yard freestyle (5:35.56) and the 1000 yard freestyle (11:31.10).
Bailey Grimm (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) won the first 1 meter diving with a score of 133.05 and placed second in the second round with a 144.60.
Mount Union returns to the pool Friday, January 20 at Oberlin at 6:00 PM.
