Box Score NEW CONCORD, Ohio—The Mount Union women's lacrosse team earned its first Ohio Athletic Conference victory of the season with a 22-1 win Monday at Muskingum.
With the win, the Purple Raiders improve to 4-2 on the season and 1-0 in the OAC, while Muskingum falls to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the OAC.
Mount Union was led by Katherine Doraty (Medina/Medina), Ashley Bernardi (Medina/Medina), and Alex Camp (Walworth, N.Y. / Wayne Central) who all scored three goals each.
Hannah Reimer (Lancaster, N.Y. / Lancaster) led the defensive effort with five groundballs.
The Raiders ran out to a quick 6-0 lead within the first ten minutes of play. Mount Union continued to extend its lead and would never surrender that for the rest of the game. With 3:27 remaining, a goal by Ashley Adams ended the Raiders streak of 15 unaswered goals. Mount Union led 17-1 at the half.
Four different Raiders recorded scores in the second half as Mount Union went on to the win.
Mount Union is back in action on Saturday, Mar. 19 at 1 p.m. hosting Wittenberg at Mount Union Stadium.
