BEREA, Ohio- Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team defeated Baldwin Wallace, 163-124, in Berea, Ohio Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (4-1) were led by Elise Pichola (Rocky River/Rocky River) Dana Lautenschleger (Solon/Solon) who each won three events on the day. Pichola placed first in the 50 yard freestyle (26.04), the 100 yard freestyle (56.68) and was included in the 400 yard medley relay (4:15.97) while Lautenschleger placed first in the 200 yard freestyle (2:01.01), the 500 yard freestyle (5:21.99) and was also included in the first place finish in the 400 yard medley relay (4:15.97).
Regina Saxon (Hudson/Hudson) and Ann Zielasko (Silver Lake/Archbishop Hoban) also were a part of the 400 yard medley relay win.
Saxon also placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:13.63)
Others placing first in their events were Jessica Hirsh (Bethel Park, Pa./ Bethel Park) in the 100 yard butterfly (1:02.10) and the 50 yard butterfly (28.28), Lauren Oktavec (Brunswick/Brunswick) in the 50 yard backstroke (29.87) and the 100 yard backstroke (1:03.45), and Peyton Kranz (Berea/Berea) in the 50 yard breaststroke (33.77)
The Raiders next travel to Wooster Thursday, December 1st- Saturday, December 3rd for the Wooster Invitational.
