UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - Mount Union's men's lacrosse team was defeated in overtime 8-7 by Ohio Atheltic Conference opponent John Carroll Wednesday night in University Heights.

Mount Union (4-9, 1-4 OAC) was led by Chris Daley (Wilmington, Del./Dupont) who scored three goals including the game tying goal with 1:31 left in the fourth quarter.

Collin Peters (Portland, Ore./Sunset) made 16 saves in goal for the Raiders.

Declan O'Grady scored the game winning goal, one of two for O'Grady on the night, to go along with a pair of assists. Kyle Lake made 12 saves in goal for the Blue Streaks while allowing seven goals.

Mount Union was blanked in the first quarter and John Carroll built a 3-0 lead going into the second period. The Raiders responded by opening the second frame with three unanswered goals to tie the game. Each team added another goal before halftime to make the score 4-4 at the break.

John Carroll scored the first goal of the second half but was quickly matched by a Josh Stephens' (North Canton/Green) goal.

Stephens scored again to start the fourth quarter and give Mount Union a one goal lead but the Blue Streaks scored the next two to retake the lead with 7:21 left in regulation.

Sixty minutes proved not to be enough as Daley knotted the game with his third goal.

In the overtime period, O'Grady recieved an Andrew Rao pass on the right side of the goal and ended the game with the goal.

With the loss Mount Union has been eliminated from OAC Tournament contention. The Purple Raiders will play their last game of the season at home against Wilmington on Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 pm at Mount Union Stadium.
