MARIETTA, Ohio -- Mount Union's softball team was swept on the road falling 4-1 and 2-1 at Marietta in an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader Wednesday in Marietta.

The Purple Raiders fell to 10-12-1 overall and 4-6 in the OAC while Marietta is now 15-9 overall and 8-2 in the conference.

In game one, Marietta scored a run in the second and three runs in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead.

Mount Union's lone run came in the top of the seventh off a Leigh Siedlak (Westerville/Westerville South) solo home run.

Alexis O'Hair allowed only one run on six hits and struck out four to improve to 7-4 overall.

In game two, Marietta scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally and defeat Mount Union, 2-1.

The Raiders had only four hits -- two from Andi Vansickle (Loudonville/Loudonville) and their run came in the fourth when Vansickle led off the inning with a single, advanced second on a wild pitch, was sacrificed to third then scored when Chelsea Obrzut (Round Rock, TX/Medina) reached first on an error.

O'Hair allowed four hits in the complete game win for Marietta.

Erin Simmons (Suffield/Field) was the hard luck loser for the Raiders giving up three hits with seven strikeouts.

Mount Union returns home to host Capital Saturday at 1 pm at 23rd Street Field.
