Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio—Mount Union's men's lacrosse team suffered a 12-6 loss at Otterbein in an Ohio Athletic Conference game Saturday in Westerville, Ohio.
The loss denied the Purple Raiders (12-4, 4-1 OAC) the first-ever OAC regular season title and stopped an 11-game win streak. Mount Union did claim the No. 2 seed in next week's OAC Tournament and will host a semifinal game against No. 3 seed John Carroll Wednesday, April 30 at 5 pm at Mount Union Stadium.
Otterbein (10-4, 5-0 OAC), in its fifth varsity season, wins the OAC regular season title and top seed in next week's conference tourney.
Michael Taylor (Broadview Heights/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) led the Raiders on offense with three points (2 goals, 1 assist) followed by Chris Daley (Wilmigton, Del./Dupont) scoring two goals. Goalkeeper Collin Peters had eight saves for the Raiders on the day.
Mount Union scored two goals in the first quarter but would end the quarter down 5-2. The Raiders rallied in the fourth quarter outscoring the Cardinals 3-2 before falling 12-6.
