Box Score 2 ADA, Ohio – Mount Union's softball team split a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference games at Ohio Northern Sunday in Ada.
The Purple Raiders won 4-3 in game one then fell 8-0 in five innings in the second game.
With the spilt, Mount Union is now 8-6-1 and 2-2 in the OAC, while Ohio Northern is 9-11 and 2-2 in the conference.
In game one, the Raiders scored a run in the first inning on an Olivia Schumacher (Gahanna/Gahanna Lincoln) triple.
Northern tied the game with the run in the bottom of the first before Mount Union tallied three runs in the second inning -- two of those on a Leigh Siedlak (Westerville/Westerville South) solo home run and an RBI single from Shelby Carmichael (Dalton/Dalton).
Siedlak finished with a pair of hits while Michelle Stiltner (White Lake, Mich./Lakeland) pitched the complete game victory as she allowed 11 hits and two strikeouts.
In game two, Ohio Northern pitcher Kirsten Burden earned her first victory as she had six strikeouts.
Megan Okuda (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) and Carmichael each had two hits but the Raiders had just six for the game.
Mount Union begins a six-game homestand with an OAC series Tuesday at 3 pm against John Carroll at 23rd Street Field in Alliance.
