Box Score UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - The No. 7 Mount Union volleyball team swept John Carroll on Tuesday and remains in first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference with one game to left in the regular season.
The Purple Raiders (24-4, 7-1 OAC) won the match by scores of 25-20, 25-21, 25-21 to claim their sixth straight set victory of the month.
John Carroll falls to 20-6 overall and 6-2 in the conference. The Blue Streaks are now a game behind Mount Union and Otterbein who are tied for the league lead at 7-1.
The Raiders were led by Nicole Snyder (Mentor/Lake Catholic) and Mallory Sliman (Amherst/Amherst Steele). Snyder led the Raiders with 13 kills and Sliman added 11 kills.
Sarah Schleich (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) and Brittany Woodard (Diamond/Southeast) both tallied double digit assists. Schleich had 23 assists while Woodard added 13 more.
Kit O'Shaughnessy led the Blue Streaks with a game-high 31 assists.
The volleyball next plays on Friday at 7:00pm at home against Otterbein for the OAC regular season championship. The winner of the match also clinches home court throughout the OAC tournament.
