ADA, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's swimming and diving fell to Ohio Northern 173-121 in the Ohio Athletic Conference finale Friday evening.
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders was Lauren Lammlein (Uniontown/Hoover) who took first in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:17.38).
Also placing for the Raiders was Shelbey Mitchell (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) who took second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.15) and the 100-yard freestyle (56.64), while Kaitlyn Goldsmith (Galloway/Hilliard Bradley) took second in the 50-yard freestyle (25.94) and Rose Aldo (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) took second in the 400 IM (4:54.58)
The Raiders took the 1,2,3 spots in the 500-yard freestyle with Lammlein taking first (5:26.42), followed by Joan Dregalla (Olmsted Falls/Olmsted Falls) (5:30.96), and Annie Holy (North Royalton/North Royalton) (5:38.59).
In relay action, the 400 freestyle relay team of Dregalla, Wilma Levengood (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia), Goldsmith and Mitchell took second with a time of 3:44.29
Mount Union (9-3) closes out regular competition next Saturday at Hammond Natatorium, February 1 at 1pm. Prior to the start of the meet the team will recognize its seniors.
