WOOSTER, Ohio -- The Mount Union women's swimming and diving was dealt a 203-93 loss by the College of Wooster, Friday night in Wooster in a non-conference meet.
Leading the way for the Purple Raiders was senior Shelbey Mitchell (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls), and sophomores Lauren Lammlein (Uniontown/Hoover), and Kaitlyn Goldsmith (Galloway/Hilliard Bradley).
Mitchell took second in both the 100 and 200-yard backstroke with times of 1:01.96 and 2:16.43. Lammlein took second in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:21.67) and swam a 5:32.13 in the 500-yard freestyle, while Goldsmith claimed second in the 50-yard free (26.20) and swam a 47.52 in the 100-yard freestyle.
The 200 free relay team of Goldsmith, Joan Dregalla (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls) , Lammlein, Mitchell took second with a time of 1:42.45 and took second place.
Mount Union (7-2) returns to the pool tomorrow as they host Wilmington in an Ohio Athletic Conference meet at 1 pm at Hammond Natatorium in Alliance.
