Box Score 2 ALLIANCE, Ohio – Mount Union's women's volleyball, ranked No. 8 in the nation, defeated Geneva (Pa.) 3-0 and Bluffton 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
The Purple Raiders improve to 19-0, 2-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference with two wins over Geneva (Pa.) and Bluffton.
In the 25-21, 25-19, 25-22 win over the Golden Tornadoes, the Raiders were led by junior Nicole Snyder (Mentor/Lake Catholic) who tallied 11 kills. Junior Sarah Schleich (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) recorded 20 assists as Lauren Mastroine (Orrville/Orrville) had game-high 24 digs. Junior Sara Brown (Willoughby/Willoughby South) had four block assists for the Purple Raiders.
In the 25-12, 25-16, 25-12 victory over the Beavers, Snyder led the Raiders with nine kills and 11 digs. Mastroine chipped in with 13 digs as Schleich notched 19 assists and junior Brittany Woodard (Diamond/Southeast) had 12. Sophomore Kara Berger (Mentor/Mentor) recorded five block assists for Mount Union.
No. 8 Mount Union hosts Hiram on Wednesday, October 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.
