Box Score ALLIANCE, Ohio – Kolbie Haines' (Hudson/Hudson) penalty kick sealed a 2-1 Mount Union women's soccer victory over Kenyon Tuesday night at Mount Union Stadium.
Haines' goal broke a 1-1 draw in the 78th minute, when Carolyn Balzano (Poland/Poland Seminary) was fouled and gave the Purple Raiders a penalty kick opportunity.
The Ladies' Becca Romaine would put Kenyon on the board first in the 17th minute, but Mount Union tied the game less than 90 seconds later as Shannon Evans (Newbury/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) would find Gina Wall (Warren/Howland) who buried it into the back of the net.
The Raiders outshot the Ladies' 12-4, while starting goalkeeper Maria Favorite (Chesterland/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) had two saves on the night.
Mount Union improves to 5-1-1 on the season, while Kenyon falls to 1-5.
The Raiders next play Saturday at 2 p.m. against Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa.
