Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa. – Mount Union's men's lacrosse team fell on the road at Washington and Jefferson 14-10 Saturday afternoon.
The Purple Raiders (5-5) were led by freshman
Toren Moore (Columbus/Hilliard Darby) who tallied seven points on five goals and two assists. Freshman
Josh Stephens (North Canton/Green) tallied three points on three goals in the loss.
The Presidents (4-6) were led by Joseph Eck who tallied nine points in the win with six goals and three assists. Tim Angell tallied six points on three goals and three assists in the victory for Washington and Jefferson.
The Presidents outscored the Raiders 3-1 in the first period. Mount Union opened the second period with four unanswered goals before Washington and Jefferson would score with 6:18 remaining in the second period, 5-3. The Presidents would outscore the Raiders 5-1 in the remaining 3:19 of the second period with three goals on man-up opportunities. Washington and Jefferson would lead 9-6 going into halftime.
Mount Union would score their only goal in the third period first with 9:51 remaining before the Presidents scored two to take the 11-7 lead into the final period. Each team would score three goals in the fourth period before Washington and Jefferson would go on for the 14-10 victory.
Mount Union returns home to host Otterbein on Wednesday, April 17th at 7:00 pm in Mount Union Stadium.
