Box Score WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- Sophomore Shannon Evans' (Newbury/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) late goal was not enough, as the women's soccer team fell to Otterbein 2-1 in double overtime in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday.
The Purple Raiders fall to 11-5-1 overall and 4-3 in the OAC while Otterbein improves to 10-5-1 overall and 5-2.
Jillian Strimbu would put Otterbein on the board first in the 69th minute before Evans would tie the game in the 89th minute on a corner kick from freshman Carolyn Balzano (Poland/Poland Seminary), which would push the game into overtime.
It would be Madison Burchfield that would give Otterbein the win over the Raiders at the 106.47 in double overtime, 2-1.
Mount Union next plays Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7 pm against Baldwin Wallace in an OAC matchup in Berea.
