ALLIANCE, Ohio - - Women's Swimming and Diving defeated Penn State-Behrend 147-65 in a meet Sunday afternoon at the Hammond Natatorium.
With the win, Mount Union improves to 10-2 overall while Penn State-Behrend falls to 3-8 overall.
The Purple Raiders finished nine events in first place.
The Raiders claimed first in the 400 yard medley relay (4:28.97) and was comprised of freshman Lauren Lammlein (Uniontown/Hover) who swam backstroke, freshman Rose Aldo (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) swam the breaststroke, junior Annie Holy (North Royalton/North Royalton) who swam butterfly and sophomore Carly Brown (Strongsville/Strongsville) swam the freestyle.
Senior Maddy Zalewski (New Kensington, Pa./Valley) finished first in the 1650 yard freestyle (19:31.23), junior Courtney Gabel (Fremont/Fremont Ross) finished first in the 200 yard freestyle (2:00.14), Lammlein finished first in the 50 yard freestyle (25.93) and freshman Alex Hamit (Massillon/ Perry) finished first in the 200 yard individual medley (2:22.52).
Zalewski finished first in the 200 yard butterfly (2:25.97) and Gabel finished the 100 yard freestyle in first (54.17) Senior Elizabeth Juran (Independence/Independence) finished first in the 200 yard backstroke (2:21.99) and Lammlein finished first in the 500 yard freestyle (5:38.50).
Mount Union's next meet will be Saturday February 2nd when they travel to New Wilmington, Pa. to take on Westminster at 1:00 p.m.
