Box Score ADA, Ohio -- Mount Union women's soccer team (6-3) lost 3-0 on the road to No. 19 in the nation Ohio Northern (6-0-3) Saturday afternoon in Ada, Ohio
Sami Atkinson put Ohio Northern up 1-0 in the 29th minute when she shot the ball to the right side of the net and beat goalkeeper Maria Favorite (Chesterland/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin).
Alex Weirich gave the Polar Bears a 2-0 lead in the 39th minute, after she was the first player to a loose ball and put it in the back of the net.
Sandy Plunkett scored off of a corner kick in the 49th minute to put Ohio Northern up 3-0.
Favorite had eight saves on the afternoon, while senior Kylee Kolesar (Mentor/Mentor) led the Raiders with four shots in the game.
The Purple Raiders return home to host Marietta next Wednesday at 7 pm at Mount Union Stadium.
