ERIE, Pa.— Senior Sarah Noble (Copley/Copley) and sophomore Courtney Gabel (Fremont/Fremont Ross) each won a pair of individual events as Mount Union's women's swimming and diving team earned a 133-82 win over Penn State-Behrend Saturday afternoon to improve to 8-2 on the season.
Noble took first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:04.77) and 500-yard freestyle (5:44.42) while Gabel was first in the 50-yard freestyle (:24.96) and 100-yard butterfly (1:01.92).
Also earning wins for the Purple Raiders were senior Alyson Kolesar (Stow/Stow), senior Taylor Harrison (New Philadelphia/New Philadelphia), Kerry McCann (Bow, N.H./Bow), and Becky Mann (Louisville/Louisville).
Kolesar won the 100-yard freestyle (:56.01), Harrison won the 400-yard IM (4:55.54), McCann won the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.29), and Mann won the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:39.53).
Gabel and Kolesar were also members of the 200-yard medley relay team that took first place with a time of 1:56.84. Senior Allison Davila (Middleburg Heights/Midpark) and sophomore Shelbey Mitchell (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) were also on the relay team.
Mount Union finishes the regular season when it hosts Westminster (Pa.) in a dual meet next Saturday at 1 pm.
