Mount Union's softball team (15-3) extended its current win
streak to eight games with a doubleheader sweep at Case Western
Reserve (9-9) on Thursday, March 29 in Cleveland, Ohio. The Raiders
won the opener 1-0 then took the nightcap 5-0.
In game one, the Raiders scored the game's lone run in the
second inning when leftfielder Erin Duignan doubled home Lindsey
Royer.
In tossing the shutout, Royer (11-3) allowed only three hits and
one walk while striking out six. Amanda Bell was the tough luck
loser for Case, going the distance and allowing only one run.

In the nightcap, Mount Union got single runs in the first and
fourth, then struck for three in the top of the fifth inning.
Offensively, the Purple and White was led by catcher Karly
Tennant, who was 2-for-4 with an RBI, third baseman Anna Horning,
who was 1-for-3 with two RBI, and right fielder Meghan Allen, who
finished the game 2-for-3 with a run batted in.
Harmon started and went the first three while Royer (12-3)
pitched the final four in relief to pick up the win.
